Reviewed by a veterinarian
As a veterinarian, I often see horses that do not get enough vitamin E from their daily diet, especially horses that have limited access to fresh pasture. This Vitamin E Liquid stands out because it contains mixed tocopherols, which closely match the natural form of vitamin E found in nature. That means better absorption and a broader physiological effect. I recommend it as a practical and effective supplement to support muscle function, immunity, and overall vitality in horses.

when to use

Vitamin E Liquid is an ideal supplement for …

  • performance & sport horses

    performance & sport horses

Higher oxidative stress from training + recovery needs. Mixed tocopherols support broader antioxidant and inflammation pathways beyond alpha alone.

  • horses with limited or no pasture access

horses with limited or no pasture access

Fresh grass is the main natural vitamin E source. Horses on hay-only or restricted turnout often benefit from daily support.

Under veterinary guidance: ideal for horses with low vitamin E levels, increased needs, or reduced absorption, thanks to its predictable liquid intake.

COMPLETE VITAMIN E SUPPORT

Why this vitamin E liquid works different

Our Vitamin E Liquid supports antioxidant protection from multiple angles, rather than relying on just one isolated form. Built around a natural mixed tocopherol complex with added d-alpha-tocopherol in an oil-based formula, it helps support the body against oxidative stress while promoting muscle health and daily recovery.

Because vitamin E is fat-soluble, the linseed oil base helps support absorption.

It works by supporting the systems that are closely connected to performance and recovery:

  • muscle protection and recovery
  • cellular protection against oxidative stress
  • normal inflammatory balance
  • daily vitality during training or limited pasture access

The result is effective daily antioxidant support and a horse that is better supported through exercise, recovery, and overall wellbeing.

What to expect

With consistent daily use

Natural mixed-tocopherol vitamin E oil for muscle, nerve and antioxidant support

  1. DAYS 1 – 3

    Rapid absorption

Oil-based d-alpha-tocopherol is pre-dissolved in fat, allowing bile-mediated micelle formation and efficient intestinal absorption. Plasma vitamin E levels begin rising within 24–48 hours — faster and more predictably than powder forms. (Ref: Brown et al., 2017; Fiorellino et al., 2009)

  2. WEEKS 1 – 3

    Muscle cell membrane protection

Mixed tocopherols (alpha, gamma, delta) begin incorporating into muscle cell membranes, providing antioxidant protection against lipid peroxidation during exercise. Gamma-tocopherol uniquely neutralises reactive nitrogen species. (Ref: Jiang, 2014; Es-Sai et al., 2025)

  3. WEEKS 3 – 6

    Improved recovery & nerve support

Exercise-induced oxidative stress is better buffered. Horses with limited pasture access (and thus low dietary vitamin E) often show improved muscle tone and recovery. Vitamin E contributes to normal nerve function. (Ref: NRC, 2007; Duberstein et al., 2017)

  4. WEEKS 6 – 8+

    Full tissue saturation

Complete tissue saturation across muscle, liver and nervous tissue is achieved. Continued daily use sustains antioxidant protection — particularly important for sport horses, horses in rehabilitation, or those with limited grazing.

Key Ingredients

Nature holds the power. Science unlocks it.

Every ingredient is chosen based on documented mechanisms of action and peer-reviewed evidence. Select a compound below to go deeper.

Mixed tocopherols (Vitamin E complex)

Mixed tocopherols (alpha-, beta-, gamma-, delta-tocopherol)

Mixed tocopherols refer to a natural form of vitamin E that includes a spectrum of tocopherols, such as alpha-, beta-, gamma-, and delta-tocopherol. Unlike formulations that contain only alpha-tocopherol, mixed tocopherols provide a wider range of antioxidant compounds that work together to protect cells (Quigley, 2021).

Each form of tocopherol has slightly different biological properties and antioxidant functions. Together, they contribute to a more complete and balanced antioxidant defense by helping neutralize different types of reactive molecules in the body (ScienceDirect, 2014).

In horses, antioxidant support is particularly important for muscle function, recovery, and overall cellular health, especially in animals with higher physical demands. Providing a full spectrum of tocopherols helps support these processes more comprehensively than a single form alone (Fagan, 2018).

Primary benefit

Broad-spectrum antioxidant support

Vitamin E

Natural Vitamin E

Vitamin E (D-alpha-tocopherol) is an essential fat-soluble antioxidant that helps protect cell membranes from oxidative stress. Because these membranes are rich in fatty acids, they are particularly sensitive to oxidative damage, making antioxidant protection important for normal cellular function (ScienceDirect, 2014).

Vitamin E plays an important role in maintaining muscle cell integrity and supports normal nerve function. It also contributes to immune function and helps maintain healthy tissues such as skin and coat (Fagan, 2018).

Horses naturally obtain vitamin E from fresh grass, but intake can be limited when pasture access is restricted, making additional supply relevant (University of California, 2019).

Vitamin E can occur in different forms (tocopherols), each with specific antioxidant properties. A combination of these forms provides broader antioxidant support compared to a single form alone. As a fat-soluble vitamin, delivering vitamin E in an oil-based form supports its natural absorption (Quigley, 2021).

Linseed (flaxseed)

Linum usitatissimum

Linseed is valued for alpha-linolenic acid (aplantomega-3) and is commonly used in horses and dogs to support healthy skin andcoat. It is especially relevant when animals eatmainly hayor processed diets with less natural omega-3 compared with fresh forage. Linseed also provides gentle mucilage-like fibers that many owners associate with digestive comfort. Sembratowicz et al., 2020
