Should I give Natural Curcuma Liquid to my dog?
Curcuma has been used as a spice and medicinal plant for many years and owes its effect mainly to the substance curcumin. Curcuma has a positive effect on the health of the joints, the skin, the intestines, and the natural defense system in both humans and animals.
Natural Curcuma Liquid is ideal for
- dogs who need extra support of the joints, skin and immunity;
- senior dogs;
- very active dogs; and
- dogs during recovery.
The safety of this product has not been tested in pregnant and lactating animals. The use during pregnancy and lactation is therefore not recommended.
How does Curcuma work?
Curcuma supports the natural defense without harmful side effects. We can simply compare the effect of Curcuma to extinguishing a fire.
DID YOU KNOW
that the absorption of natural curcumin is 6 times greater than the synthetic form (2)?
TRADITIONAL SYNTHETIC PRODUCTS
If we extinguish the fire with a sprinkler system, the fire will certainly stop, but afterwards, there will be a lot of water damage. In the body, the stomach and kidneys might be affected.
NATURAL CURCUMA LONGA
If we put out the fire in a more targeted manner, it will take a little longer, but the damage is limited. Turmeric works very targeted without harmful side effects (1,3,4).
The Curcuma longa extract we use is standardised to contain at least 95%active substances (curcuminoids) at a scientifically proven dosage (1).
Bioavailability is the degree to which the curcuminoids are absorbed in the body. Curcuminoids are up to 6 times better absorbed when offered in their natural matrix. This is the form of Curcuma we use (2).

Frequently Asked Questions
1. Why is curcuma longa mentioned in the list of aromatic additives and not in the list of ingredients?
The herbs in herbal preparations can be processed in different ways. When selecting the processing form, it is important that the amount of active ingredients remains constant. In the Natural Curcuma Liquid, a nebulisate of Curcuma is used. This is a unique form of drying extract that is much more concentrated than ordinary herbal powder (1). Moreover, the extract is standardized to contain 95% curcuminoids, the active ingredient of Curcuma longa.
2. WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN CURCUMA LONGA, TURMERIC AND CURCUMIN?
Curcuma longa is simply the scientific name of Turmeric, a plant of which de roots are used to make a yellow powder with well know health benefits. The most active compound in turmeric is curcumin, which has strong anti-inflammatory and analgesic potential.
3. should you add BLACK PEPPER TO ENHANCE THE ABSORPTION OF CURCUMIN?
The absorption of synthetic curcumin is often said to be low. Therefore, various pharmaceutical approaches have been developed to overcome the poor absorption issues and enhance the utility of synthetic curcumin. These include nanoparticles, liposomes, black pepper, gelatin, ... However, it has been shown by Gopi et al. 2017 that the absorption of curcuminoids in a NATURAL matrix is six times greater than the methods mentioned above (2). CURAFYT uses curcumin in a natural turmeric matrix with greater bioavailability; therefore, adding black pepper is unnecessary!
4. WHY SHOULD I USE NATURAL CURCUMA LIQUID FROM CURAFYT IF IT IS CHEAPER TO BUY CURCUMA POWDER IN THE STORE.
You can indeed buy turmeric powder as a spice in almost any food store. However, the percentage of the active ingredients (curcuminoids) in such powder is very low. Even in organic powder of excellent quality, it is at most 2.4%. In dietary supplements, the curcuminoids are present in much higher concentrations, with our curcuma extract standardized to contain 95% curcuminoids. What do you think your dog will prefer?
