What to expect

With consistent daily use

Joint, tendon and connective tissue nutritional support

  1. DAYS 1 – 14

    Anti-inflammatory herbs begin

Boswellia serrata, nettle (Urtica dioica) and black currant contribute to modulation of normal COX-2 and 5-LOX activity from the first days of use, supporting a normal inflammatory response in joints and soft tissues. (Ref: Kimmatkar et al., 2003; Pearson et al., 2011)

  2. WEEKS 2 – 4

    Connective tissue building blocks

D-glucosamine sulphate (5× higher dose than leading competitors) and MSM provide sulphur-containing building blocks for cartilage matrix. Equisetum-derived silica contributes to collagen synthesis in tendons and ligaments. (Ref: Usha & Naidu, 2004; Farinon et al., 2013)

  3. WEEKS 4 – 8

    Mobility & circulation support

Horse chestnut (Aesculus hippocastanum) and nettle support healthy microcirculation and contribute to normal tissue fluid balance. Horses with stiff movement often show improvement in this window as cartilage support accumulates. (Ref: Dudek-Makuch & Matur, 2015)

  4. WEEKS 8 – 12+

    Sustained structural support

Cumulative cartilage and connective tissue support is established with continued use. Long-term supplementation maintains the supply of glucosamine, sulphur and silicon needed for normal joint and tendon maintenance.

SEEING IS BELIEVING

Real Stories. Real Results.

BEFORE
AFTER

Cata

Our 19-year-old horse, Cata, is retired, but due to wear and tear in his feet, he wasn’t able to fully enjoy it. He was clearly uncomfortable, you could see it in his movement, especially how he’d dip his head when stepping forward. Our vet recommended trying Curafyt’s Smooth & Supple. After just two months, the difference is noticeable. Cata is moving much more smoothly and, most importantly, seems comfortable again. It’s such a relief to see him relaxed and happy, now he can truly enjoy his retirement.

Horse Chestnut

Aesculus hippocastanum

Aesculus hippocastanum (horse chestnut) powder contains several plant compounds, with aescin (β-escin) among the most studied. It is used to support microcirculation in small blood vessels and help tissues retain less excess fluid by making tiny vessels less permeable, or less leaky, so less fluid moves into surrounding tissue. By supporting fluid balance and a healthy inflammatory response around tissues, it can also be linked to supporting joint comfort and mobility over time.

Leaves

Boswellia (Indian frankincense)

Boswellia Serrata

Boswellia is used to support mobility and joint comfort in both dogs and horses because its boswellic acids help maintain a balanced inflammatory response, which can support more comfortable movement.

In dogs: Boswellia has been studied in osteoarthritis supplements, often as part of multi-ingredient formulas. Some randomized controlled trials report improvements in comfort and mobility based on owner observations and veterinary assessments. It is best used alongside a complete joint plan: healthy body weight, appropriate exercise, and veterinary guidance. Barrouin-Melo et al., 2022Multicenter RCT, 2025 (Frontiers in Veterinary Science)

In horses:Boswellia is commonly used to support joints and post-exercise comfort, especially in older horses or those in regular training. While horse-specific clinical studies are more limited than in dogs, its traditionaluseand the known activity ofboswellicacids make it a popular supportive botanical formaintainingfree, comfortable movement. As with dogs, it works best when the basics are right: a balancedration, correct training, good hoof care, and a sensible workload. Vita et al., 2023 (Life, MDPI)

Nettle leaf extract

Urtica dioica

Nettle (Urtica dioica) leaves are valued for their dense nutritional profile, providing plant protein and a wide range of naturally occurring minerals including iron, calcium, magnesium, and silica. These nutrients play an important role in the maintenance of bones, connective tissues, and normal musculoskeletal function. Gülçin I. et al., 2004

Minerals such as calcium and magnesium contribute to normal bone metabolism, while silica is associated with connective tissue integrity, including ligaments and tendons. Because of this nutrient composition, nettle leaves have traditionally been included in animal nutrition to support the musculoskeletal system during growth, aging, or periods of increased physical workload.
Halder & Sharma, 2017

For horses exposed to repetitive joint loading, such as sport horses, as well as growing foals or older horses, providing adequate mineral support is an important part of maintaining healthy bones and connective tissues and supporting comfortable movement.

Rosemary

Rosmarinus officinalis

Rosemary is an aromatic Mediterranean herb valued for its high concentration of polyphenols, including rosmarinic acid, carnosic acid, and carnosol. These compounds are widely studied for their antioxidant properties and their role in helping maintain a normal inflammatory balance in tissues.

In active animals such as sport horses, oxidative stress and inflammatory signaling can increase during intense exercise or repetitive joint loading. Plant polyphenols like those found in rosemary are therefore often explored for their ability to support the body’s natural antioxidant defenses and help protect connective tissues from oxidative stress.

Because maintaining antioxidant balance is important for joint tissues such as cartilage, ligaments, and tendons, rosemary extracts are sometimes included in nutritional strategies aimed at supporting mobility and maintaining comfortable movement in animals exposed to physical workload or age-related wear.

Oregano

Origanum vulgare

Oregano (Origanum vulgare) is an aromatic herb known for its high concentration of phenolic compounds such as carvacrol and thymol (Plants, 2018). These compounds have been widely studied for their interactions with microbial populations.

Maintaining a balanced microbial environment in the digestive tract is an important aspect of gastrointestinal health. Ingredients that support microbial balance may contribute to maintaining digestive stability and gut comfort.

Because of its bioactive compounds and traditional use in digestive formulations, oregano is sometimes included in nutritional strategies aimed at supporting gut health and microbial balance in animals with sensitive digestion (Veenstra & Johnson, 2019).

Glucosamine

Glucosamine hydrochloride

Glucosamine is a naturally occurring amino monosaccharide that serves as a building block for glycosaminoglycans and other structural molecules in the body. Glycosaminoglycans are important components of connective tissues such as cartilage and also contribute to the structure of mucosal surfaces throughout the body.

These molecules help maintain the strength, elasticity, and structural integrity of connective tissues. In biological systems, glucosamine participates in pathways that support the synthesis and maintenance of these structural components, which are essential for maintaining normal tissue function.

Glycosaminoglycans and related molecules also contribute to the protective mucosal layers found in the gastrointestinal tract. These layers help maintain barrier integrity and support the interaction between the intestinal lining and the microbiome, which is important for digestive stability and overall physiological balance.

Because of its role as a structural precursor in connective tissues and mucosal systems, glucosamine is often included in nutritional formulations aimed at supporting tissue maintenance, gastrointestinal integrity, and overall physiological resilience. ScienceDirect

Linseed (flaxseed)

Linum usitatissimum

Linseed is valued for alpha-linolenic acid (aplantomega-3) and is commonly used in horses and dogs to support healthy skin andcoat. It is especially relevant when animals eatmainly hayor processed diets with less natural omega-3 compared with fresh forage. Linseed also provides gentle mucilage-like fibers that many owners associate with digestive comfort. Sembratowicz et al., 2020

MSM

Methylsulfonylmethane

MSM (methylsulfonylmethane) is an organic sulfur compound that plays an important role in several physiological processes in the body. Sulfur is a key building block of amino acids and structural proteins such as keratin and collagen, which contribute to the strength and integrity of connective tissues including hooves, joints, skin, and tendons.

Through this structural role, MSM supports tissue quality and resilience, which is relevant for maintaining strong hooves and healthy joints, especially in horses exposed to physical stress or metabolic challenges.

In addition, sulfur is involved in metabolic pathways linked to the body’s antioxidant systems. These pathways support the processing of metabolic by-products and contribute to maintaining normal cellular balance. This makes MSM relevant in nutritional strategies aimed at supporting liver function, digestion, and overall metabolic stability.

Because of its dual role in both structural support and metabolic processes, MSM contributes to maintaining connective tissue health, digestive balance, and overall physiological resilience (Jiao et al., 2025; Marañón et al., 2008; Kalman, 2012).

Oatmeal

Avena sativa

Oatmeal derived from oats (Avena sativa) provides a dense source of essential nutrients including zinc, iron, and B vitamins (European Journal of Nutrition). These micronutrients play important roles in metabolic pathways involved in normal hormone production and reproductive physiology.

Zinc and iron contribute to enzymatic processes that are important for cellular metabolism and tissue development, while B vitamins support energy metabolism and the synthesis of hormones and signaling molecules. Maintaining adequate levels of these nutrients is particularly important for broodmares before breeding and during pregnancy, when nutrient demands increase to support both the mare and the developing foal. (Kelleher, S.L., 2009)

Because of its balanced nutritional profile and high digestibility, oatmeal is often included in equine breeding rations to help maintain metabolic balance and support overall reproductive nutrition.
