Why hay alone is not enough
Is your horse sensitive to sugar and does it gain weight easily? Then you have probably already restricted its diet. Less feed in the bucket also means fewer vitamins and minerals: there is a big chance you cut those too, along with the feed. That is what Este Balancer brings back. Also want to support a healthy sugar metabolism? Then add Steady & Stable.

Steady & StableSupports a normal sugar metabolismEste Balancer: why it’s different
Developed by Dr. Sara Torfs, European equine internal medicine specialist, osteopath and PhD, to complete forage-based diets. Hay and grass alone often still miss nutrients a horse needs for strong hooves, a healthy gut, a shinier coat and better overall condition.
Steady & Stable: what it does
Plant-based, vet-formulated support for horses with sensitive hooves and metabolic imbalance.
For horses with hoof sensitivity, cresty necks, weight challenges or seasonal grass sensitivity.
Complete rationstrong hooves
Strong hooves need two things
1. Sugar goes into the blood. After a meal, the sugar from grass and feed ends up in the blood.
2. The hooves need good blood flow. Tiny blood vessels bring food and oxygen to the hooves. A normal sugar metabolism helps keep that blood flow healthy.
3. Strong hooves need two things. Good blood flow to the hooves, and the right building blocks, like biotin, to grow strong horn.
This pack gives the hooves both. Steady & Stable supports how the body handles sugar and healthy blood flow to the hooves. Este Balancer gives biotin: 20 mg a day, about four times an average balancer.
Why Este Balancer is different
Dr. Sara Torfs built Este Balancer around the deficits she kept finding in blood work. In an independent comparison of 11 leading balancers on the European market:
Daily amounts at the recommended dose for a 500 kg horse.

“In my practice, I regularly use Steady & Stable for horses with metabolic sensitivity: a tendency to gain weight, difficulty metabolizing sugars, or hoof sensitivity, situations we encounter very frequently. Its formulation works on multiple levels of metabolism, supporting microcirculation in the hooves, liver function, and overall metabolic balance. When integrated into a broader management approach including nutrition and veterinary care, I see very good results in many horses.”

“I’ve had several clients with very poor hoof quality and clear hoof issues. For them, I recommended Steady & Stable. After about five months, the difference is truly remarkable: much stronger hooves that are far less sensitive than before.”

Feeding guide
Your horse: 500 kgFree weighband in the 2- and 3-month pack.
Este Balancer, one cup per 500 kg.
Steady & Stable, one scoop per 500 kg.
Introduce both gradually over the first week: start with a small amount and build up to the full dose. Some horses need a few days to get used to a new smell.
Owners who see a change this early usually mention energy first. Coat condition tends to follow.
Hoof horn grows about 1 cm a month, so look at the coronet band first.
A full hoof wall takes 9 to 12 months to grow down. Many owners keep both in the ration all year.
Not sure the pack fits your horse’s ration? Our vets answer questions every day.
Keep your Steady & Stable. Este Balancer is the daily feed that goes with it: low in sugar (4.2% sugar, 3.5% starch), it fills the gaps hay leaves in vitamins and minerals, and it adds 20 mg biotin a day for the hooves. Make your next Steady & Stable order this pack and get both at up to 10% better value.
Horses and ponies that need a low-sugar diet: horses that gain weight easily, older horses, and horses with sensitive hooves. Has your vet advised you to cut back on sugar? Then this pack fits that diet.
They do different jobs at very different doses. Este Balancer is a daily feed you dose by weight: 50 g per 100 kg. Steady & Stable is a concentrated supplement: 15 g for a 500 kg horse. Keeping them separate means each one is dosed right, and you can adjust one without touching the other.
Set your horse’s weight in the pack selector and each pack shows how many days it lasts for that weight. The pack names are for a 500 kg horse. Compared with buying both separately, the 1-month pack is 2.5% better value, the 2-month pack 5% and the 3-month pack 10%. The 2-month and 3-month pack come with a free Curafyt weighband, so you dose by your horse’s actual weight.
Steady & Stable is not recommended during pregnancy, so leave it out and ask your vet. For Este Balancer, we recommend raising the dose by 20% from the third trimester and keeping it there during lactation.
Yes, when you combine several feeds. Total selenium should stay under 3 mg a day, so check the selenium content of every concentrate and supplement in the ration.
A small daily feed that adds the vitamins, minerals and protein building blocks a horse needs on top of grass and hay. You feed a few hundred grams instead of kilos of grain mix, so the ration stays low in sugar. Este Balancer is a pellet: one full dosage cup a day for a 500 kg horse.
If your horse is sugar-sensitive, Steady & Stable adds targeted support for normal sugar metabolism and the hooves. The balancer completes the ration. Steady & Stable does that second job.
Yes. It contains 4.2% sugar and 3.5% starch, about 10.5 g of sugar per daily serving for a 500 kg horse, far less than horses typically take in from hay alone.
Yes. Many owners use the balancer to replace that scoop. If you keep some, reduce the balancer by 50 g for every 1 kg of concentrate a day, and talk to your vet about the total ration.
*Daily amounts and price per day at the full dose of both products for the selected horse weight. Complementary feed, not a medicinal product. To be used in support of, never as a replacement for, veterinary diagnosis and treatment.
