WHO BENEFITS FROM METABOLIC CARE SUPPLEMENTATION?
METABOLIC CARE is a feed supplement to support the sugar- and fat metabolism and to promote the blood flow in the hooves of horses and ponies at risk for laminitis.
METABOLIC CARE is ideal to support horses:
- who eat a lot of sugars (grain & fresh grass);
- with a tendency for overweight;
- with older age; and
- with hormonal imbalances such as equine Cushing’s disease (PPID) and equine metabolic syndrome (EMS).
The safety of this product has not been tested in pregnant and lactating mares. The use during pregnancy and lactation is therefore not recommended.
WHY SHOULD I GIVE METABOLIC CARE TO MY HORSE OR PONY?
A well-functioning metabolism is of great importance for the general health of your horse.
The liver clears the blood of fatty acids and waste products, while the pancreas is responsible for regulating blood sugar levels.
Hoof health can also be seriously affected by an unbalanced metabolism. The lamellae, which attach the horn wall to the coffin bone, can inflame and detach. When this happens, we call it laminitis.
METABOLIC CARE is a feed supplement for horses and ponies, that helps to balance the sugar- and fat metabolism and supports the hooves by combining 8 different plants and L-arginine with a beneficial effect on 4 levels.
blood circulation in the feet
Chrysanthellum americanum, L-arginine and Pinus maritima have a beneficial effect on blood flow in the feet of horses and ponies by dilating the blood vessels (1,2,3).
natural defence and detox
Sulfur is the most common mineral in horses’ hooves. MSM is a naturally occurring organic molecule and is very rich in sulfur. MSM and Silybum marianum also support the natural defence and promote detoxification (detox)of the body (4,5).
balances the sugar- and fat metabolism
Chlorella, Berberis vulgaris and Licorice balance the sugar- and fat metabolism in the body and support stomach and gut health (6,7,8).
strengthens the lamellae in the hooves
Horsetail powder has a beneficial effect onthe health of the laminae in the hoof by supporting the production of collagen (5).

Chill out peeps! We all need sugar to survive, and so does your horse. It's the basic building block of what runs our bodies and those of our horses, and, in fact, it's even necessary.
Moreover, there is a VERY GOOD EXPLANATION why we have added dextrose to our product. It has been added on purpose to increase the absorption of the active ingredients in the gut and to provide energy to the intestinal cells for renewal. The quantity of dextrose has been reduced to the minimum required dose.
It all depends on the amount of sugar, and we all know that TOO MUCH SUGAR IS BAD!
So in horses with PPID, Equine Metabolic Syndrome, laminitis or any other glucose related problems it is definitely necessary to limit sugar intake of the total daily diet.
We however, added only a very tiny amount of natural dextrose to our product. the daily amount of dextrose for a 500 kg horse corresponds to the amount in 1/8 of an apple. Nothing to worry about. Trust us!
Daily amount of hay: 1 kg of sugar
Daily amount of grass: 2 kg of sugar
Daily amount of METABOLIC CARE: 2,33 gram sugar
THAT IS 1000 TIMES LESS SUGAR!
